"Act of Valor" goes deep into the secret world of today's most elite and highly trained group of warriors. When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the United States, a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitments to country, Team, and their families back home.

But each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the plot, which stretches from Chechnya to the Philippines and from the Ukraine to Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track a terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border-where they engage in an epic firefight with potentially unimaginable consequences for America...

"This book kept a good story flowing flawlessly. What also made the book's story strong is the fact that the book is based on a true story. The book flawlessly made you question what would happen. There was quite a few people that made me wonder if they would survive or not. The end of the story was heart wrenching(that's all i'm going to say). The ending was powerful, there was enough action and suspense to keep me reading, but some parts like on the ship was a bit boring. "

"act of valor is a book that is based on real navy seals stories. The book was about a platoon called the banditos they were deployed to go on a mission to stop terrorist. they go from Philippines to the Ukraine to Mexico in order to stop a man named Abu Shabal. Who is a Russian mastermind and kills all important U.S. politicians he plans on having scuicide bombers reach America and bomb important places."

"This was wonderful. I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie so yesterday I read it, last night I saw the movie. Knowing that the book was based from the movie was fine. The book gave you a true to life story following the deployement of The Bandito Platoon, SEAL Team Seven as they are in a race against time to stop a terrorist threat before it hits US soil. The scenes in the book are graphic and well written. Did I cry at the end of the book... no, I did get teary-eyed though."

"I really liked this book. It was full of action, suspence, and all around butt kicking that never seemed to stop, until the end of the book which ended on a very serious note. Even though the book is all about war, following the Navy Seals and all, but it also has a back story that everyone will like."

"I would recomend this book to anyone and everyone. The book has action and suspence for the thrill readers, emotion for the sypathetic reader, and a back story for every other reader out there. You can't go wrong with this book."

Thomas Leo Clancy, Jr. (April 12, 1947 – October 1, 2013) was an American novelist and video game designer best known for his technically detailed espionage and military-science story lines set during and after the Cold War. Seventeen of his novels were bestsellers, and more than 100 million copies of his books are in print.[1] His name was also used on movie scripts written by ghost writers, nonfiction books on military subjects, and video games. He was a part-owner of the Baltimore Orioles and vice chairman of their community activities and public affairs committees.

Clancy's literary career began in 1982 when he started writing The Hunt for Red October, which in 1984 he sold for publishing to the Naval Institute Press for $5,000.The publisher was impressed with the work; Deborah Grosvenor, the Naval Institute Press editor who read through the book, said later that she convinced the publisher: "I think we have a potential best seller here, and if we don’t grab this thing, somebody else would." She believed Clancy had an "innate storytelling ability, and his characters had this very witty dialogue".The publisher requested Clancy to cut numerous technical details, amounting to about 100 pages.
